Our Blackburn Training Centre opened in October 2023 as the first-ever Smiths Hire ‘Training Pod’. Since launch, it has quickly become one of the busiest IPAF and PASMA training providers in Blackburn and the wider Lancashire area, delivering more than 100 high-quality sessions to delegates from Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Burnley, and the M65 corridor.
Purpose-built to support safe, competent working practices, the centre offers IPAF MEWP training, PASMA Working at Height, and a full suite of accredited classroom-based safety courses. As the pilot for our training pod concept, Blackburn set the benchmark for accessible, flexible, modern training across our network.
Just minutes from key routes including the M65, A666 and Blackburn town centre, the site is ideally placed for both local companies and travelling contractors seeking reliable, industry-approved training solutions.
