The qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means the learner must be employed to undertake this qualification.

Achievement of this qualification/pathway enables the learner, to demonstrate and recognise skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate competence in a real workplace environment to work in Specialist Concrete Occupations – In Situ Flooring (Concrete Finisher) within the construction industry.

This qualification is at Level 2, and on completion, individuals should need minimal supervision to carry out the work

What is required from candidates?

The qualification consists of 6 mandatory units, with a total credit value of 49 credits. Qualifications are now required to indicate the total qualification time (TQT), this is to show the typical time it will take someone to attain the required skills and knowledge to meet the qualification criteria. The TQT for this qualification is 490 hours.

Qualifications are also required to indicate the number of hours of teaching someone would normally need to receive in order to achieve the qualification. These are referred to as Guided Learning Hours (GLH). The GLH for this qualification is 216.

The units of assessment set out learning outcomes which describe what learners need to be able to do and understand.

The learning outcomes are defined by assessment criteria which are used to assess competence, expressed as skills

achieved and learned knowledge and understanding, to achieve the units. GQA Qualifications will issue a certificate complete with the learner’s name, the qualification and unit title and the credits achieved.
