About the course

Companies that use MEWPs need to know what their management and legal responsibilities are and how to ensure the most effective use of MEWPs. This course covers what managers need to know for safe and effective use of MEWPs on site, including planning the job, conducting a risk assessment, selecting the right equipment for optimum cost-efficiency and mitigating all possible risks.

In most countries there is a requirement for employers to train all employees who plan, supervise or manage work at height and the use of equipment for such work.

• Do you know what your legal obligations are?
• Have you selected the right machine for the job at hand?
• Who is operating MEWPs on your site and have they been trained and familiarised?
• Have you considered the potential hazards and taken preventive measures?

This training course will help you answer these questions and prepare you to safely and effectively manage MEWPs on site.

Where is training held?

The training can be completed in a classroom if you have 6 delegates however, the quickest option would be to complete it via e-learning. This can be accessed 24/7 from the comfort of your own home or office! If you require on-site training please contact the training team on 0333 323 2022.

What to expect

The course is suitable for all abilities and is open to those with no prior knowledge and it takes around 6 to 8 hours to complete, depending on your current level of experience.

Once you start the course you can complete the training at your own pace, in and around your other commitments.

The MEWPS for Managers eLearning has been broken up into manageable sections, you can resume your training at any time and pick up where you left off should you not have the time to complete it in one sitting. Once you have successfully completed the training, just get back in touch with us and we will apply for your MEWPs for Managers certification.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive the MEWP for managers qualification, and an IPAF Certificate of Training. These will both be accessible via the IPAF ePAL app, available on Android and iOS smartphones, which also includes a logbook and safety information. If a physical PAL card and certificate are required these must be arranged with the training department prior to the course start date, at an additional charge of £25 plus VAT.
